Build #70 0f 3768 Coupes, Build date 10/06/2003. I am the 1st owner, other than SVT, it was a Media Vehicle. Anyone have or know of an earlier build date?

I don't know how you would find out other than getting a hold of SCT and finding out. Mine is one of the lastest put out in 04.

Actually I talked to the guys at SVT at length about the car..just thought I would see if anyone had an earlier build date. Not really concerned about it, just thought it was interesting. SVT could research it for me but it would take some time..one day maybe I'll call and ask them to look into it.

I hate to admit this...but I have no idea what my build number is...it's not C.O. but I know a lot of Cobra owners sport their build date...I love my car, but it's never been a concern for me. Sorry for the hi-jack!

Not really a concern for me either but it is on my certificate,that along with the early build # and the fact that my car was an SVT car got me thinking it might be the 1st C.O., which would be neat.

i think that it can be determined based on vin, if we know them

i think that the last 6 numbers are consecutive and sequential based on the build (if i am not mistaken, experts please chime in)

since the first 11 characters of all verts will be 1FAFP49Yx4F, and the first 11 characters for all coupes will be 1FAFP48Yx4F (x=check digit, will vary)...

then the remaining six digits would tell the story

Call 1-800-FORD-SVT (1-800-367-3788), have your VIN ready. They can tell you you build date, build # and also provide a
Certificate.

What sucks is that certificate used to be free. I think they just started charging for it this year.

This may sound naive... but aren't the VIN numbers sequential (last 6 digits anyway)?

Dunno for sure, never checked myself with another car.

My last 6 digits are 126805

Haven't contacted SVT yet about a Certificate plan to do so soon as I need one for my SVT Focus too.

Position 12-17 is the manufactures sequence Number. However, position 12 for Ford is aways "1." The first car would be "100001." Yours is #17,404

morpheus it looks like your vin sequence # is right on track with the others' and their build #'s.

for example the next coupe that i have a vin on is 4f181909 and that is 1195 of 3768

the previous one i have is 4f104372 prod# 0196

i am guessing that your build date was sometime in november 2003

wierd but Rods Vin was f100150 which makes it very early w/ford but i have seen some of the other comp cars w/lower registry numbers but thee vin no's are higher than rods w/meant that rods vin was assingned in the begining.
I now own rods car now and will be restoring it as it got front end damage and then the guy that bought it from rod parted it out. HAHA but i have 7 others w/low miles to fix it.

in other words can you list any other co cars or vins with lower build #'s than your #70

i can name three coupes (19, 22, 38) and one vert (9) but do not know their vins

Car no 19# is on svt performace and was built 9/03 its vin is like f111640 would be interesting to see the vins on the other cars before mine.
Ford can do anything they want and my vin no shows that kinda wierd.
