Okay, before you guys start flaming....I have searched many forums and most of the internet (thought I had even almost reached the end) Anyway my issue is this....I have had the worst possible luck in the world with finding the right exhaust...I am pretty sure I will be keeping the stock mid pipe, and I know I will not be touching the headers due to the fact I do not plan on going over 550rwhp. Here is the dilema, I have heard the borla..sounds good but not quite what I'm looking for, also the bassani..again sounds good but only with mid pipe IMO. So I think it has come down to either the Magnaflows, or the SLP loudmouth 1....maybe the M-55...but I think they hang too low for my H&R race springs.....sorry for the long post but I have just come to the end of my rope with exhaust :boxing:

i think the 2 best choices for our cars are magnaflows or flowmaster!
i know people who have all the ones you mentioned, i think the slp and the m55 sound bad, they are extremely loud.
the bassani sounds good with their complete exhaust setup, but expensive.
if you ever decide to go with a mid pipe i like the mac prochamber.

Thank You, the more I think about a mid-pipe the more the prochamber comes to mind....I think what I really need is to be able to hear them first, and everyone raves about mustang exhaust.com but they do not have a whole lot in there of 03-04's with stock mid-pipes.

Hope that helped ya...
I have the Flowmasters Cat Back 40 series.I would go with Borla. They sould awesome. I like the Flowmasters (sound great under acceleration), but I get that raspy sound when I get out of it. I don't have any cats, so that could be the reason.

Mark I have the video of your car...and let me tell you I used to watch it at least once a day....that thing sounds friggin awesome....but I think I want to stick with the cats...stock for now but maybe some high flows in the future.
Does anyone know of a sound clip or vid of a 03-04 with stock mid and SLP loudmouth 1's?
Thanks. I don't have the cats...they stayed in Florida. I have also heard that if I put on headers, that will take care of it as well. Don't get me wrong. I love the sound when I am in it...it is when I get off out of it, it sounds a little raspy.

SLP sounds good with a catted H or prochamber IF you get headers as well... other wise its gonna pop like a v6 truck with cherry bombs

Yeah I hear ya, I was thinking of headers to begin with...but I have heard that with our cars they are only effective if you are around or over 600rwhp....I am making sure I do not go over 550, besides it's a daily driver:)

I'm not sure about the 4v, but I know that even shorties will have good gains on a blown 2v. The headers quiet down the exhaust a small ammount (LTs quiet it down even more than T/Ls) and if you are going with the LM1s they are absolutely nessecary... or you get the popping I previously mentioned.

I have the same, flowmaster cat back 40 series. To me it sounds the best with a throaty/manly sound, not so raspy. Once I added the long tubes it got all raspy on me but that the price you pay to go fast. :gt4her:

I have a stock cobra dual cat h pipe and flowmaster 40 deltas with jba shorty headers and it sounds pretty good to me plus I dont seem to have any droning problems like some do. This is on a 2v gt.
