How much does a paint job cost in todays time?? I would be working with the color red. I heard that this one of the most expensive base colors on the market. So how much just to do the exterior and to smooth out a couple of dings in the doors?? Any help would be great.
Depends on alot of things. Type/brand of paint, who does it. Correct on the red. I just paid $215 for 2 quarts of red.

PPG has high end and low end, just like Dupont. Comparable in price and quality. I use Dupont though.

Generally speaking how much would a decent body shop cost for the low end paint?? I am seeing what options I got here.

88GT is pretty accurate on your ballpark figure, it also depends on the finish quality you are looking for. Most people these days will simply scuff and squirt your car, especially if it is already red. Also, when taking it to a normal body shop, or I should say most body shops, you do not get the needed prep work done, before the paint is laid. So, in saying that if you car is pretty straight with some minor dings the 5,000 paint job shouldn't apply unless your
going multiple colors with graphics. I spray with the highest quality paint and equipment consisting of a variety of house of colors, hot hues, and dupont paints and clears. I would also be happy to take a look and give you a free est. on whatever you would like to do. Here is a picture or two of some flames we just laid down this past weekend for our local MATCO tools distributor, and he was in that really bad hail storm a few months ago, he paid less than 5k.

Dupont Chromabase/Chromaclear FTW :mick: Never try to save a few bucks by using a little less expensive paint products. It's just more labor to maybe get the same results :blkvnm:

In Dupont Chromabase, about $100 a quart.
*edit* OOps. I didn't see the RE paint. But anyway, yeah, its that much a quart. Price of color don't effect the cost of the job that much though, as much as what it is you are after in quality and damage.

The pictures are not that good because they were taken with my camera phone, but the red used in the flames on the MATCO truck is dragon fire red made by hot hues, it was close to 70 bucks a quart. If you would like an est. to repaint your car we would be happy to take a look, it all depends on body work needed and the condition the vehicle is in, but you would need much more than one quart to repaint the car. If you would like an est. email me at tits@titsfabs.com and I will give you my number and directions to the shop. I will be at the park this sunday with Travis(Mr.T).
